FORT MACLEOD SKATEPARK
TOWN OF FORT MACLEOD, ALBERTA, CANADA
Located at Centennial Park, the Fort Macleod Skatepark is just over 4,100 square feet of a thoughtfully-placed and carefully-crafted concrete skatepark. Designed and built by Drop In Skateparks in 2022, the Fort Macleod has been a popular spot for the community members to gather at within the park. This skatepark is a curved plaza nestled perfectly into the corner of Centennial Park, and includes numerous features that are excellent for beginner to intermediate skill level riders of all-wheel types, such as banks, curved ledges, a table top, manny pad, orange slice, stair set, rails and flat bars, and a an open-bowl connected to a spinecano feature.
The Fort Macleod Skatepark project filled a void in the Town that youth and parents alike were feeling - a lack of activity space for older youth and families with teens. Prior to our installation of the cast-in-place skatepark, the Town had been utilizing a small modular skatepark (installed in 2004 by others), which eventually was removed due to the hazards it was presenting from age. A cast-in-place concrete skatepark became the obvious choice for the Town's Council and community members because of the longevity it offers.
